This bulletin board is located in Bard Hall. I choose this bulletin board because it follows the five guiding principles for visual design that we learned about in class. The one basic idea for the bulletin board is respect. It is also simple, organized, has legible characters, and is balanced visually. Although this bulletin board did not use three colors it still balanced. The use of the colorful background is acceptable because the rest of the information is in black and white. The colorful background gets your attention. The quote on the left hand side of the board follows all of the guidelines for lettering media. This quote is an appropriate size, spaced accordingly, spelled correctly, and is legible. The bulletin board also has a variety of font sizes and styles but does not go over board. The issue that I see with this bulletin board is the information in the center of it. There is too much information on one piece of paper and the reader is not able to read it. These papers look cluttered and I do not think anyone is going to stop and take the time to read what is on that section of the bulletin board. The information on the right side of the board is acceptable. The font is big enough to read although the information after each letter in the word respectful could have been a little bit bigger.
